it’s a strange time right now… we’re working from home, practicing social distancing and trying not to eat everything in our kitchens before noon (it’s hard living with your own personal baker). music has been good company to me during this time, so i’ve created a playlist of some of my favorite tunes to be released in quarantine. xx
i saw the japanese house at sxsw two years ago and was instantly enamored. this was my first time listening to her music and i wanted MORE. she had a couple of eps that held me over but i wore those songs out pretty quickly…GUILTY! today (the first day of my birthday month) she released her first full length album (hbd 2 me!) and i am beyond ready to have this album on repeat.
i’m not really sure how i came across jacob banks’ music but i know that i haven’t stopped listening to it since i did; it’s addicting. when you listen to it, you feel the music, the emotion, you can see it (yeah, i’m going there)- there is this visual aspect in it that is really indescribable, which is what i think makes you want to keep hitting repeat. today he released his latest ep- the boy who cried freedomand had a chat with nylon about his inspirations, aspirations and sound . you can read the full interview here.
in love with this gal. today she gave us a little taste of what to expect from her live at urchin studios album by releasing “for you”; the single off of the album. you can pre-order her album on itunes or listen to the single on spotify as part of my music monday playlist. for this playlist i’ve put together some tunes that i’ve been listening to lately… some old some new some rock and some blues. happy monday!
