“oh jameson, you’ve had your fun. stop holding him, i want to be the one. i promise you i’ll treat him right. don’t wanna fight, you don’t need him like i do.”

i’ve always loved the look of a piano in the house. unfortunately for me, i seem to be constantly moving all over la, so me trying to lug a piano from place to place doesn’t seem like the best idea. the grass is always greener on the other side and for me, it’s still greener-i want a damn piano. did i mention i taught myself hot cross buns on the piano? so if you ever find yourself needing a pianist, i am your girl…just for one song.
my girl dolly! check out this brilliant collaboration between libby vanderploeg and dusty rose vintage to see your favorite leading ladies whose style and thinking had a great impact on our culture.
this video is just so damn good (insert slow clap here). yesterday, andrew bird released the video for his duet track featuring fiona apple. i couldn’t take my eyes off the two love angst musicians with their passionate back and forth banter. really looking forward to this new album come april 1st!
how dreamy is this interior? i’ve been spending a lot of time on the west side lately and i’m starting to think about relocating (bye bye silverlake) well we’ll see, i do like having my favorite go-to restaurant near by. check out the full story on this vegetarian cafe’s west coast debut.

quick! your friend just got dumped, locked herself out of her car and is stuck in the rain without her jacket in a packet (oh the horror!) if you’re lucky, you know exactly what to say… if you’re not so lucky, don’t worry emily mcdowell has got your back. with her out of the box cards being wild, honest and heartfelt, you will never have a brain fart again…maybe. be sure to check out her online store for more creative goodies beyond cards.
“little green” by joni mitchell
born with the moon in cancer
choose her a name she’ll answer too
call her green and the winters can not fade her
call her green for the children who have made her
little, green, be a gypsy dancer
he went to california
hearing that everything’s warmer there
so you write him a letter, say, “her eyes are blue”
he sends you a poem and she’s lost to you
little, green, he’s a non-comformer
just a little green
like the color when the spring is born
there’ll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow
just a little green
like the night’s when the northern lights perform
there’ll be icicles and birthday clothes
and sometimes there’ll be sorrow
child with a child pretending
weary of lies you’re sending home
so you sign all the papers in the family name
you’re sad and you’re sorry but you’re not ashamed
little green, have a happy ending
just a little green
like the color when the spring is born
there’ll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow
just a little green
like the night’s when the northern lights perform
there’ll be icicles and birthday clothes
and sometimes there’ll be sorrow
