SIGHT UNSEEN: EGG COLLECTIVE

EC_Reflection-654x500 Screen Shot 2014-12-07 at 1.15.49 PMsight unseen is an online magazine that gives readers a glimpse into the design, art, fashion and photography worlds. my most recent read has been about the furniture designing trio, egg collective and their behind the scenes studio tour and interview. click here to read the full article. all of egg collective’s pieces are handmade in their studio and wood shop located in brooklyn, new york. prided on creating heirloom/quality contemporary furniture, egg collective has earned their title as the “best new designer” at the international contemporary furniture fair in 2012. two years later and their ability to create and collaborate amazes me. bravo to these three talented ladies. be sure to check out their website to see all of their brilliant designs.

 

 

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

i am no chef but at least i can say i try. recently my sister, who may know a thing or two around the kitchen helped me exercise my cooking skills… or lack there of. All with the company and distraction of a very cute and curious one, macdougal the cat. i’ve made a list of recipes that i can start practicing on and have provided the links below. who knows with a little practice and a lot of error, maybe i’ll even become a better cook than my sister (seriously doubtful, she’s amazing). let’s get cooking- good luck and don’t burn the house down!

i made these brussel sprouts on thanksgiving and it was SO easy and quick. i made them right before everyone arrived, timing was perfect. with my brussel sprout success i think i’m definitely ready to try the rest of these recipes.
