my latest obsession is open shelving in the kitchen. to me it just looks cleaner, less bulky and fills up the space nicely. i like the contents of the cabinet being displayed rather than a block with handles. it’s what’s on the inside that counts right? so flaunt it.
i can’t stop listening to this song (and by listening to i mean belting out with an interpretive dance routine). this isn’t the first time i’ve been under sia’s musical spell … flashback to 2008 in front of my computer, using the keyboard as my piano singing “the girl you lost to cocaine” sorry but sometimes i just can’t help myself. this music video is just as powerful as the song, featuring a platinum blonde maddie ziegler from lifetime’s hit show dance moms. maddie spends the entire length of the video dancing from room to room, captivating you with every look, kick, and leap. last week sia was accompanied by maddie on the ellen degeneres show to perform this hit, and what they did deserves every recognition possible. this was not your average mid day talk show performance but rather an art piece (bravo, bravo). during the performance sia stood in the corner, back to the audience while maddie took center stage enchanting all those who watched. i don’t think the world understands how brilliant sia really is, but i think we’re getting close.
as of late, i’ve renamed LA “the surface of the sun” b/c what the eff is going on with this heat?!? luckily reformation has the cure for your heat stroke.
don’t get me wrong i love my bed, i just think it’s time we take a break… like the ross and rachel kind of “break”. i’ve been daydreaming of far away places a lot lately and i want nothing more than to be somewhere else, sleeping in a different bed and exploring a different city. i’ve done my research and here are some hotels that i wouldn’t mind having a little weekend love affair with.

upon receiving my issue of this month’s vogue, i began my read on my comfy couch. in one hand coffee and the other on page flipping duty. {sip, look, flip and repeat} while skimming through the 270 page may issue, a familiar face graced a page or maybe seven… i had to do a double take to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me, the man alongside sasha pivovarova was in fact james blake. in case you are not aware of the music stylings of this english gentleman i suggest you look him up, you won’t regret it. CAUTION: these photos may cause immediate want to travel.
